Visa Bulletin – April 2022

The Department of State has released the visa bulletin for April 2022 DOS. In addition to final action dates and dates for filing, the bulletin contains notes on the diversity visa (DV) category and DV category rank cut-offs that will apply in May, the expiration in June 2021 of the I5 and R5 visa categories due to the lapse of the EB-5 Regional Center Program, the continued availability of C5 and T5 visas to non-Regional Center EB-5 investors, the scheduled expiration of religious worker (SR) category, and more. Regarding the I5 and R5 categories for EB-5 investors in Regional Center projects, the bulletin notes that certain EB-5 Regional Center Program provisions contained in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022, which was signed by President Biden on March 14, 2022, will go into effect 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act. More information regarding the provisions of the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 contained in the Appropriations Act will be published in future editions of the visa bulletin as well as upcoming blog posts on our website.
